Upcycled mustard parka jacket
Discover the beauty of conscious fashion with our Upcycled Mustard Parka Jacket—a unique blend of eco-conscious design and social impact.
This jacket, rescued from the brink of landfill, tells a powerful story of transformation and second chances. Originally discarded by a retail brand and never reaching the shop floor, it has been given a new lease on life through our upcycling efforts.
This parka jacket showcases traditional Andean motifs, each meticulously handcrafted by men in prison in Peru. These intricate motifs not only add a touch of cultural heritage to the jacket but also represent a journey of redemption and creativity.
By wearing this jacket, you're not just making a style statement; you're supporting a community of artisans seeking to turn their lives around.

Ethically made
We follow the World Fair Trade Organisation's guidelines to ensure our practices are fair and improve the lives of those who work with us.
The strips with the Andean motifs have been handmade by men in prison in Peru. We pay them a fair wage and help the ones that want to set up their own local businesses.
The jacket was made by another fashion brand and discarded (ready to go to landfill) before even reaching the shop floor. We bought it and gave it a chance at life.
Materials
The jacket is made of 100% cotton. The waterproof hood is made of 100% polyester.
The motifs have been made using a blend of alpaca and sheep wool, so they are soft to the touch.
The handmade motifs
Each motif tells a story and represents aspects of life in the community.
The motif on the back is called Loraypo, and it's the traditional motif that represents the Chinchero region where our weavers live. It's called after a medicinal plant that grows in the mountains and it's used to treat inflammation. The zig-zag represents the Inka trails that lead to the Sacred Valley. The small circles represent the two lakes of the region (Lake Piuray and Lake Huaipo). The S shape represents the tool they use to work the land. Next to it, you can find little eyes, which represent the bulls they breed. The triangles above the S shape motif (called cuty) represent the mountains where they live and work.
Please note that each artisan may weave the motifs slightly differently so the ones in your clothes might not look exactly the same as the ones in the picture. This makes every piece unique and special.
